10k update

I figured that I should update you (whoever you are) about my 10k training. I'm still training. I've decided to throw out my training schedule I had and do it my way. I'm going a little (a lot) slower than my original 10k plan. No worries though my race isn't until the end of July. I hadn't really exercised my entire pregnancy. That first day of training kicked my butt. It's hard getting back after just having a baby. But I've improved! I can now run 2 miles and still feel good after! And I've shaved 3 minutes off of my mile! I can also do 30 push ups! They're girl push ups but who cares? You should have seen me on day one! My little arms barely even able to bend more than 2 inches and feeling like my face was about to explode. And now I can do 30 decent ones! I've also lost 14 pounds. Unfortunately, I've still got some poundage to lose... let's just say I had no problem gaining weight during my pregnancy.

so there you have it. go me!

Dear Blog,

I tried to make you look better. I only made you look worse. I give up.

Love,
Leslie

*update (later that night)* I didn't quite give up.... after some googling (I don't think that's actually a verb. eh. oh well.) I figured out how to center my header picture! I know a lot of my friends have been frustrated with off center headers. So here is the secret....

Design > Template Designer > Advanced (on left) > Add CSS (bottom of Advanced list).

In the Add custom CSS box, add some style for the image:

#Header1_headerimg {margin:0 auto;}

The preview should show the change. If you cut and paste above, it may not show. Add some letters (kjh) after } and as soon as the preview shows, delete the letters.

I in no way take credit for this. It was thanks to some message board dude. Thanks message board dude.

3?

Izzie turned 3 months on Tuesday... I'm behind.

Izzie,

3 months? What? You're getting sooo big! All you do is smile lately. In fact I've finally been able to catch a few of those smiles on camera. We have to be sneaky though because as soon we whip out the camera you get this strange look on your face. You chew on your hands all day and you have a constant wet spot down the front of your shirt from all your drool. We think you've already started teething. I'm so not prepared for that. You are probably the best sleeper in the whole world. And I realize how I might jinx myself saying that... But seriously you are. You sleep about 10 hours a night. You love sitting up and you're so close to rolling over. You've started giggling and it's the cutest thing I've ever heard. You talk all the time and you make all sorts of squeals, yells and sounds. You let everyone know you are here with that tiny voice of yours. Strangers absolutely adore you. We actually had a lady stalk us at the grocery store. She stopped both me and your dad separately and told us how cute you were. When she stopped me she stood there and stared at you for a good minute until I awkwardly said "Well... see you later." I really can't blame her though. I've never seen such a beautiful baby either. We're so in love with you.

Love,
Mom

Blessing Day

We had Isabel blessed on Sunday. Troy did an amazing job. Oh, I love him. I decided last minute to forgo the traditional blessing dress. They're all too long and ruffly for my taste. Instead Izzie wore a simple white sundress with grey and white striped ruffle bum tights. She was to.die.for.adorable.

Thanks to everyone who came! We love you all!

Conference

Conference was this past weekend and I had been waiting and waiting for the church's website to post these two conference talks that I loved so I could read them and learn all over again.

The first is by Elder Cook, LDS Women Are Incredible
The second is by Elder Scott, The Eternal Blessings of Marriage

In case you missed them... I think you should read them! If you're like me I've never stayed awake for all 4 sessions of conference. I always managed to fall asleep during at least one session...usually more than that. I did better this year though!

Now I'm going to go read the talks that I missed! Have a great day!

Nursey

I realized that I had promised a few people that I would post picture's of Izzie's nursery when it was finished. And it was finished months ago... Sorry!

I had these birds custom made to match her room.

My amazing friend Michelle made this diaper basket to match!

The changing area

My sister in law sewed all of the bedding

I also made felt bird mobile that was inspired by this but I didn't want to spend that kind of money. And mine only cost me $10 to make! I really love how everything turned out. As usual everything looks better in person. I love that no one else has anything like it and I designed it all myself. I feel pretty proud. I'm still looking for the perfect vinyl tree (at the right price) to put on the boring white walls.
